Fillings are used to replace the decayed area of a tooth. When bacteria enters a tooth, a cavity may form. This decayed material must be removed to prevent the death and loss of the tooth. Dove Dental Centres are proud to say that we do not use any filling materials containing mercury. Since 1983, a chemically accepted alternative has been available.
Once the tooth is excavated, shaped and prepared the dentist will fill in the space and reconstruct the tooth back to its original shape. We accomplish this with the following materials;
- Gold (strongest and most durable)
- Composite Resin
- Porcelain (can be used anywhere in the mouth due to its tensile strength)
